Important Announcement for Horse Exhibitors entered at the National Show

Following conversations with the Horse of the Year Show, the Society confirms that it will be running a qualifying class on Saturday for Stallions and a qualifying class on Sunday for the Females.

These classes will need to be entered by all those wishing to compete, the amended schedule is available on the link below.  The class will carry no entry fee and will receive no appearance money, but all entrants will be required to pay the £13 HOYS contribution as is required at all other qualifying shows.

The HOYS qualifying classes will be run under HOYS rules which can be found at:

The qualifying classes will only be open for entry to those that have entered one of the breed classes for the Stallions and Females.  It will not be possible to just enter the HOYS qualifying classes.  Entries have re-opened in light of this change for all classes and will close again on Friday 28th February.

The office will be making calls to those already entered in the Stallion and Female classes today.  The staff in the office will do all they can to help exhibitors and members to ensure that those wishing to take place in the qualifiers do so.

Therefore, the only classes to be run under HOYS rules at the show will be the HOYS Stallion class (Saturday), HOYS Female class (Sunday) and HOYS Ridden qualifier (Sunday).  The remainder of the show will be under SHS rules.

The timing of the Grand Parade on Saturday and Sunday is subject to change in the timetable depending on entry numbers in the relevant qualifying classes, but all exhibitors will be sent the final timetable in their entry packs.

We thank you for your understanding and please direct any queries to the office on 01536 771611.
