The UK Government has launched a public consultation on the future regulation of fireworks and pyrotechnics, and we encourage all horse owners, breeders and equestrian enthusiasts to participate.

Many horses experience significant stress and anxiety from unexpected loud fireworks, which can lead to injury, distress and welfare concerns. As owners and custodians of these magnificent animals, our experiences and views are important.

The consultation is seeking opinions on proposals to:
 Reduce the maximum noise levels of consumer fireworks
 Review whether additional high-risk products should be banned from public sale
 Reassess regulations for lower-risk pyrotechnic products

Whether you own a Shire, another horse breed, ponies, livestock or simply care about animal welfare, this is an opportunity to influence future policy.
