2025 Breeder of the Year Award Results

The Shire Horse Society’s Breeder of the Year Award recognises and rewards breeders through the quality of Shires they have bred based on those horses doing well in the show ring.

During the showing season points are awarded to pure-bred fillies, mares, colts, stallions and foals (filly and colt foals) that were bred in the UK, reside in the UK and placed first, second or third in selected competitive classes at affiliated shows including the National Shire Horse Show and in-hand Shire Horse of the Year Championship.

The Shire Horse Society is pleased to announce that Mr L M Fountain from the Woodhouse Stud has won the 2025 Breeder of the Year Award together with £500.   Mr Fountain and his family breed Shire horses on their farm near Ashbourne in Derbyshire.
