The Shire Horse Society is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of its members, Mr John Shemilt.

Mr Shemilt successfully showed and bred Shire horses under the ‘Ipstones’ prefix and with his knowledge and passion for the breed he was responsible for the success of the Shire and heavy horse section at Ipstones Show.  A great supporter of young handlers Mr Shemilt helped and encouraged his own grandchildren and others into the show ring.

The Society sends its condolences to Mr Shemilt’s family and friends at this sad time.
