The Society has launched a new initiative to encourage and to continue to build on the great work being done around the country for our Young Handlers. An accumulator will be run at all affiliated shows where a Young Handler class takes place.
Points will be awarded to the top five, with points awarded as follows:- 1st-5 points, 2nd-4 points, 3rd- 3 points, 4th-2 points and 5th- 1 point. Double points will be available at the Society’s Working Horse Festival held over the weekend of 30th September/1st October.
The Champion Young Handler with the most points at the end of the year will win a junior membership to the Society for 2018 and a pair of tickets to watch the Shire Horse of the Year Final at HOYS. The Reserve will win a junior membership for the Society for 2018.
Affiliated shows have been made aware of the new accumulator and are to submit the results of the Young Handler classes when they submit the Silver Spoon award forms.
Those taking part in the above should be junior members of the Society and are able to join mid-season if they are not already members. Points will only count once membership is taken up and points will not be back dated. Junior memberships are £10 per annum and are open to those that have not attained their 18th birthday.
