What you’ll be doing
We’re looking to recruit a member of staff to work alongside our team of 6 Shire horses on our open farm. The role will include; daily care of the horses, grooming, mucking out, feeding, turning out, general handling, assisting the driver whilst carrying out carriage rides and driven exercise of the horses, ridden work with the horses, work from the ground, long-reining and lunging. You’ll be required to provide an exciting and unique visitor experience, educating the public and encouraging interaction with the horses. A proficient riding or carriage driving ability is required; training will be given to develop new skills.
The role includes regular weekend and bank holiday work.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
◦Previous equine experience essential with a recognised qualification or relevant proven experience
◦Good knowledge of the horse’s daily needs and welfare standards, along with the health and safety aspects of working around horses
◦Ability to work in a team and to work alone using own initiative
◦Good levels of presentation with an eye for detail
◦Good interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to impart knowledge to the visitor
◦A can do attitude, and willingness to learn
