Without the support of our Members, the Shire Horse Society would be unable to carry on and expand its work in the promotion and well being of the Shire Horse.

Named members are entitled to:

• FREE ENTRY to the National Shire Horse Society Spring Show including one forward area car park label, the use of the Members Facilities, a free Guest Pass to admit a guest to the Members Facilities and reduced rates on additional admission tickets
  
• FREE ENTRY to the East of England Country Show organised by the East of England Agricultural Society
  
• FREE ENTRY to other nominated Society Events, Shows and Open Days
  
• Receive the Shire Horse Society's Newsletters detailing the latest news and projects underway in the Shire Horse World
  
• Register approved Shires in the Society's Stud Book and Grading Register
  
• Compete for the Society's special awards at Affiliated Shows
  
• Voting rights at General Meetings
  
• Qualification for election to the Council and for appointment to its Committees

HOW TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP

By Post - Download the Membership Application Form / Direct Debit Form (you will need Adobe Acrobat to do this) and return to the Shire Horse Society (Membership Department), East of England Showground, Peterborough PE2 6XE

VAT:

Members registered for VAT are able to reclaim the VAT element of their subscription. VAT is included at the standard rate. The Shire Horse Society's VAT registration number is 120 9218 03.

Income Tax:

The approval of the commissioners of the Inland Revenue has been received by the society whereby the whole of the subscription paid by members (who qualify for relief under section 201 of the Income and Corporation Tax Act, 1988) will be allowed as a deduction from their emoluments assessable to income tax under Schedule E. P358 forms can be obtained from tax offices for purposes of claim.
