We look forward to welcoming our visitors to the 2019 National Shire Horse Show. The Show will be held on 22nd, 23rd and 24th March at Bingley Hall, Stafford County Showground, Weston Road, Stafford, ST18 OBD.
Some of the questions we are asked are listed below. Please note the office and telephone will be unmanned from Thursday, 21st March owing to staff being on site setting the Show up.
Q. Is the Show held indoors?
A. Yes the whole Show including the ring, trade stand, Food Hall and the majority of stables are indoors.
Q. Can I bring my trade stand to your Show?
Q. Can I purchase tickets at a discounted price in advance?
Q. I’ve purchased my tickets online but now I cannot find my e-ticket email.
A. No problem please click here to obtain this information.
Q. Can I purchase tickets on the gate?
A. Yes tickets can be purchased on the gate by cash only.
Q. Can I pay on the gate by a card payment?
A. Only cash sales can be taken on the gate.
Q. Do you offer concession tickets?
A. There are no concession tickets in 2019. Adult and Child prices only.
Q. What are the prices for children?
A. Children under 5 years of age are admitted free of charge. Ticket price for children aged 5 – 13 is £8.00 in advance and £10.00 on the gate.
Q. Can I sponsor part of the Show?
A. Sponsorship starts from just £100.00 and the Society is grateful to those that help this. Please call the office on 01536 771611.
Q. Where can I find local accommodation.
Q. Is there car parking?
A. Yes there are plenty of parking spaces and the parking charge is £2.00 for all cars entering the Showground.
Q. Can I bring my dog to the National Show?
A. We welcome all well behaved dogs on short leads and ask their owners to clear up after them.
Q. Can I book in advance a place on the popular stable tours (Saturday/Sunday)?
A. Unfortunately not, bookings can only be made on the day via the Shire Horse Society’s office in the main entrance. Booking is advisable on arrival.
Q. Is there a cash machine at the National Show?
A. No sorry we don’t have one on site but the nearest can be found in Stafford.
Q. Can I bring my caravan/camper van and stay for the period of the Show?
A. We do offer a number of spaces on the Showground and full details are available in our Caravan Section or simply call the office on 01536 771611 to reserve your space.
Q. I am staying on the caravan field are there showers and toilets?
A. Yes there are clean and well equipped facilities located next to the caravan field and inside Bingley Hall.
Q. I am not a member of the Society, but would like to attend the Annual Dinner on Friday, 22nd March 2019 and the Informal Social Evening (ticketed event with food and entertainment) on Saturday, 23rd March, 2019 is this possible?
A. Yes we welcome both members and non-members to the Annual Dinner and Informal Social Evening. Please email the office for an application form. Alternatively please download the form from our Forms and Downloads page.
Q. I am staying on site, where can I eat on site in the evening?
A. The Drayman’s in the Pavilion will be open on Friday, 22nd March from 5.00pm and will offer hot food and a bar. Alternatively come and join us at the Annual Dinner (see above).
