Mr Dave Wilshaw

The Society has been informed of the sad passing of Dave Wilshaw. Dave worked for over 30 years with Philip Moss’s Hillmoor Shires and was a great friend to many. The Society sends its condolences to Mr Wilshaw’s family and friends.

Horse of the Year Show 2020

We are pleased to announce that Mr Richard Green and Mr Bill Massey have been selected to judge at HOYS in 2020. Mr Green will judge the Shire Horse of the Year final and Mr Massey the conformation Judge for the British Ridden Heavy Horse final. Young Judges Competition

The Society held the second Young Judges Competition in 2019 to encourage new Judges and provide support and training to aid their development. Mr Keith Wright’s Service

Mr Keith Wright’s Thanksgiving Service will be held on Wednesday 16th October at St Mary’s, Church End, Haynes, Bedford at 11.15am. The cremation will be for close family only before the service. Refreshments will be served after the service. The Society sends its condolences to Mr Wright’s family.

Results of the McNeil Family British Ridden Heavy Horse of the Year Championship

This championship took place at the Horse of the Year Show on Thursday 3rd October 2019 with seven Shires included in the class. Shire horses stood in the top four spots with the championship awarded to Melindwr Lady Olwen owned by Montserrat Sport Horse and ridden by Abigail Gresty.
